Apple’s coolness factor on a scale of 1-10

TEN. (10)
Absolutely. Without hesitation.
I could barely answer the phone today because I was too busy watching Steve Jobs at Apple’s Special Event. (You can watch it here if you missed it.) Ole’ Steve is an awesome presenter, and the mere fact that you can watch a live event streaming to your phone is amazing.

That alone would’ve ensured my 10 rating on the coolness scale — but then, I haven’t even gotten around to talking about product changes (this interests the gadget-queen side of Shelley), or product packaging changes (which ...

blah blah blah baby

A post wouldn’t be a post here without a photo. Since I’m baby obsessed, Colette is again the subject of the day.
But that’s not all that’s going on around here!
Perry has called in sick from work on Thursday. Do y’all really think he knows he is going to be sick in two days? Oh! And, he made a comment that it’s quite possible he’ll still be sick on Friday, if you can believe that!
Here’s my take on it — Scott and I are huge Colts fans; he’s a die-hard ...

degrees of anxiety

We all have something that can make us anxious — and it’s different for everyone. But have you ever been in a room filled with anxious people? If so, have you ever just sat your relaxed self back and watched everyone as they fret with how to deal with their anxiety? I’m still snickering over my observations from today, and would highly recommend the experience as an inexpensive form of entertainment.
Tammy had yet to see Colette. The anticipation had been building over the past months and increased as she shopped ...

aperture wasn’t the priority

I had the privilege of being asked to take a few photos today. It’s like a 1-year anniversary of a ‘going out’ thang, and is pretty important when you’re in high school I guess. Jerilyn & Tader’s daughter, Katie, is stunning. Isn’t she?

The only other time I remember Katie actually posing for photos for me (pics taken while playing in a volleyball game do not count) was one Halloween night a long time ago. She was dressed like a pumpkin with a bright, orange hat that had a green-stem topper ...

Antoine Dodson revisited

I posted earlier about Antoine Dodson (post title: i think i’m in love with Antoine Dodson). Yes, he’s still my ringtone.
But guess what? He was recently interviewed on the Today Show. Why? Because the attempted rape of his sister that began as news story, then set to a music video by the Gregory Brothers, is one of the most watched youtube.com videos EVER! The video I told you about on August 4th has been viewed over 16 million times, is #35 on the iTunes chart, and has made over ...

brad pitt loves me

Yesterday, the coolest thing happened! I’m on the phone late afternoon and I get a beep-in. I didn’t recognize the number, but put my other call on hold (which I rarely do) to speak with a dude from a flower shop wanting to make certain I was available to accept a delivery. Immediately, I’m wondering who could be sending me flowers.

Isn’t that the most beautiful bouquet ever?
Peach, yellow and pink roses — and I can’t wait to see who the awesomest person on the planet is as I tear ...

bending over backwards

Sometimes I “bend over backwards” waaaaay too far. I’m sure you do it too — both at home and in the workplace. I have a conference call scheduled for 8:15 AM EST (less than 7 hours from right now) and I have the big eye. WHY did I agree to accept a business call before business hours? I’m never, EVAH up at 8:15 AM, but tomorrow today, I will be.
The scariest part is I’ll be expected to be “on my game”, and I figure I’ll be lucky if I can ...

if it fits

If the song fits, take a photo.
I think Wednesday is just a day stuck in the week to remind us that Friday is coming. If it’s a really bad Wednesday, it only serves to remind us that the good times we had LAST weekend are over. Gone. His-toe-reee.

it always just says “now”

I like going places where the scenery looks different than Indiana no matter which way you turn your head. The beach, the desert, and yes, even the mountains…

These photos were taken out of the car window simply driving along the countryside near Gatlinburg. Not one sprig of corn or soybean field in sight — the staple of all the mind’s eye images I have from the Ville. Even a plain ole’ hill makes for an incredible view when it’s something you don’t see every single day at home.

And something else ...

invest in a real freaking coffee pot

I’ve stayed at Hidden Mountain Resorts in Pigeon Forge, TN before. My good friend, Alisa, stays there often. My first visit I remember I thought it was so cool that a gas grill was provided, and they even changed the foil on it every morning. I remember how awesome it was to relax in a hot tub, and would only choose cabins that had one. If you’ve ever stayed in Hidden Mountain’s EAST chalets, you’ve probably crossed the bridge.

To say I had the same ‘ultimate experience’ as I received in ...
