i don’t sleep

first night app testI remember my Nanny roaming the floors every night. She would go to bed like everyone else but no matter when you got up, she already was. She would often sit at the table by the window in the front of the house and stare at the highway. I wonder if she ever missed a sunrise.

I don’t sleep either, you guys. Falling asleep is easy — in bed, sitting up in a chair, on the floor, ANYWHERE — it’s staying asleep that’s my problem. I blame it on my bed but have no clue if it truly has anything to do with my insomnia. I think I’m turning into my Nanny!

So I download this iPhone app called ‘Sleep Cycle‘ and to the left is an overview of my first recorded night. The thing won’t analyze your sleep quality until it’s been activated for 5 nights, but it’s obvious from the displayed graph that I didn’t grab any ‘deep sleep’ zzzzzz’s whatsoever. I’ll share the results when they’re available — as well as my thoughts on the iPhone/iPad app…

Nanny lived to be almost 100, so I guess bodies are just fine without spending a ton of time in the rack. But I admit, I long for the times when I would fall into bed on a weekend night and someone had to wake me up or I’d still be snoozing the afternoon of the following day.

Not sure where this is heading… but I wish sweet dreams for all of you. And more than 6 hours in bed.
