i have an impish side

Dec 5, 2012

Those of you who know me would agree — I have an impish side that loves harmless mischievous trickery. Just ask Perry… once the Peskies called to invite us to their home for lunch. The menu was recited over the phone… beans, cornbread and fried potatoes. I repeat the menu items aloud, then turn back to the phone and say, “Perry said he doesn’t want any of your damn beans.” Struck with a look of utter panic, the ever-polite Perry has been on guard for my antics ever since. (At least I didn’t whisper we were leaving a party early because he had diarrhea — yes, I did that to someone once as well. The more people that later asked if he was feeling better the funnier I thought it was.) I can’t believe I’m admitting this stuff, you guys!

So Ben, Perry and I spend a few hours working together in the office every day. Ben’s work area is set so he can see my monitor. Every day I make the same threat — to share this one status that is so over-done on Facebook it makes me want to puke. I make it a point to open my FB page every day so he can see what I’m viewing and there it is… a lovely mushy photo of hearts and hands with the words, “Share if you love your son more than anything.” Talk about being embarrassed… he would DIE! Someday, I’m gonna’ surprise him and share that graphic for everyone to see — and will probably even manipulate it to include his face or something. But today, I’ll instead show this — which should make it pretty obvious I still love my son more than anything. ::evil grin::
