I am officially no longer the owner/operator of a school bus. The Crothersville School Board approved the assignment of my route to a friend of mine, and what I’ve done for over 22 years never got so much as a thank you from one of them at the board meeting on last Monday night. For all the things that have happened in the past that I didn’t agree with that involved the school Superintendent, Dr. Terry Goodin — he was the ONLY one that shook my hand, and thanked me for my years of service to the school and the students. I will remember his words, “You were a good bus driver.”
You betcha I was.
I will absolutely miss the kids — but there’s nothing else that I will miss. Call me before 9:00am and I promise to be grumpy, coz’ I don’t have to set my alarm for 5:30 am anymore. Go me!
