gifts that have a meaning

Dec 6, 2012

Oftentimes, I buy gifts at Christmas just so I can mark that person off my list. I try to pick out things I think they would like but to be honest, most everyone on my list is able to buy whatever they want without waiting for Christmas. You probably do the same thing — candles… because they don’t last forever, wine… because it doesn’t last forever either — basically stuff that is far from being memorable.

Not everyone is as lame as I am when it comes to picking out something meaningful as a gift. Like my favorite cousin and wonderful friend, Jerilyn, for example. One small box. A thoughtful gesture. It comes out every year and still warms my heart the same as the day I first opened it.

The back is engraved with my Dad’s name, date of birth and date of death.

And just so you know, your memorable gift doesn’t even have to be perfect. This still makes the cut for my ‘top 10 favorite ornaments’ and someone put the photo in sideways. =)
