I can’t remember a time I wasn’t a HUGE Aerosmith fan. I had my kid singing along to ‘Walk This Way’ when he was 4 or 5. We danced to ‘Rag Doll’ and ‘Dude Looks Like a Lady’ when Gems was released. As he grew older and didn’t want to like Aerosmith because they weren’t “cool” enough for him, I could catch him from the corner of my eye mouthing the words to several songs.
Me? I never stopped being a Stephen Tyler fan and digitally purchased “We’re All Somebody From Somewhere” as soon as I watched the ‘Love Is Your Name‘ single upon it being shared on Facebook. Even though it’s country — and I’m not a fan of country music (still rebelling against all the country music played my my Dad growing up, I guess).
Fast forward to today and dude DOES look like a lady. An old lady actually. Stephen Tyler turned 70 in March of this year. Yesterday was the birthday of his daughter, Liv, and he sang to her from a plane and shared it via Facebook. Imagine my thoughts when I saw him wearing MY glasses!!
I don’t know if I should be excited and start painting a black stripe down the center of my nails too — or head straight to my favorite optometrist to select new frames. Me and Stephen T. Holy cow!
