rethinking my position

May 16, 2011

Still couch bound with a foot that looks like it belongs on the appendage of an alien, I spent some time over the weekend installing programs on my laptop that pertain to work. I figured when I first sustained this injury, I was ‘tough’ and would be back to normal in record time. I’ve been forced to rethink that position after ‘over-doing it’ a bit this weekend. Now I realize I may be a full-fledged couch potato longer that I initially estimated. Go me.

I did have visitors yesterday, and that was awesome! Getting great photos of my favorite people wasn’t optimal — me stuck in one spot with one lens … them having the ability to be mobile and not within the areas I would want them. I did get one decent shot of my favorite son.

I think he’s absolutely the most handsome dude ever.

It’s no secret that photo composition is extremely important, but we all know that oftentimes, you simply have to work with what you’ve got. The most important thing to remember in these types of instances is to take more pictures than you would otherwise.

Sure I wish the background of the photo above didn’t include tile flooring and the baseboard — but it still captured Ben’s gorgeous eyes. If you can’t get the photo composition that you really want, don’t let it keep you from trying to get something you may be pretty darned fond of for other reasons.
