you are invited to a party. sort of.

Jan 11, 2011

To really be invited to this awesomely rad “party”, you must be the first to request admittance by providing a detailed resume and recent health certificate, along with information on the quality of your snow shovel. All applicants will be considered. I am waiting.
🙂

Today, I got a call from a gentleman working from home because of road conditions due to snow. He told me he was watching his kids ride down the hill behind his home, and explained how excited they were to have their 2nd day in a row off from school. You see, his kids don’t often get “snow days”. He’s from South Carolina.

South Carolina y’all!

It’s still snowing here with more in the forecast over the upcoming weekend. So far, it’s not so bad, and if I have to endure Indiana winters, I personally prefer lots and lots of SNOW! Bring it.

I know it’s difficult for the ‘powers that be’ when it comes to making a decision on whether or not to have school. You know…having school start at the regular time (requiring buses to pick children up on slick roads in the DARK), on a 2-hour delay (was always my preference when possible and more snow wasn’t sure to fall), or simply staying home (meaning school could still be in session in mid-June). What’s really odd is that I’m no longer ‘in the loop’ or concerned in the least about what the final decision will be insofar as school tomorrow for students in the Ville. Please understand, I’m sure not complaining.
