What a fabulous weekend! Yes, it’s almost over and work begins anew tomorrow. But don’t you love those weekends that totally re-charge your batteries — those where you don’t do any business work from home, you forego the laundry and normal housecleaning duties and you just do things you enjoy?

(Once seasonal, pineapple upside-down cheesecake has been added permanently to the menu at The Cheesecake Factory!)
And my grand baby that’s due in July…
It’s a she. How about that?

Birthdays were never a big deal at our house. Dad remembered his kids were born on St. Patrick’s Day and Election Day and that’s all he needed to keep in his head. There was never a hoopla — no balloons or big parties with family and friends. We normally had a cake with candles. And, I always got a gift on Scott’s birthday, and of course, he also got one for mine. We didn’t know whose birthday it really was without counting the candles on top of the cake.
For example, I THINK it was my birthday in the photo on the left, but I’m not really sure. If it truly WAS my birthday, my brother should’ve kept his air off my flipping candles.
Perry celebrated his birthday this week and to me, it was just another day. No big deal. Many commented on his FaceBook page and I at least remembered and posted here — and he thought that was pretty cool. But even though he didn’t admit it, I think he was a bit disappointed because in his family, (which is HUGE I might add), birthdays ARE important. My best buddy, Alisa, saved the day. Seriously. Alisa rocks. (And Patrick is pretty awesome too!)

This morning’s Photojojo newsletter provided an awesome photo idea! It’s pretty easy to play along at home, although I haven’t done it yet. You simply find an old picture of yourself, and then snap a modern-day recreation.

So click the link and browse through the young-me-now-me photos, and then try one of your own!

A wise friend once told me, “If you are still talking about it, you are not over it.”

Let’s not talk about snow anymore. K?
