To follow-up on Perry’s post about the game World of Warcraft… posted by Shelley
Our lower level characters (one of the many pairs of alternate characters we have), finally got our riding mounts! Not a big deal — everyone gets a mount once they achieve level 40. The big deal in this case boils down to vanity. My priest, Arienne, did NOT want to ride her racial mount. No. She did NOT want to be seen riding a big fat elephant. Instead, for hours this pair worked on her reputation so she could ride this very cool cat.

Yesterday, Angela Bard was found hanged in her garage. Rumors are flying around the burg like gnats on a soft banana. When it comes to drudging up dirt on someone, even death doesn’t spare you the critical opinions and cheap shots of gossipers. That’s one of the downfalls to ‘close-knit’, small community living.
I don’t know what’s true insofar as how Angela lived her life — and I don’t really care. She was always nice to me. My fondest memories of Angela were made during our town’s Red, White & Blue Festival where she shared parade judgeship with me and Alisa. I am sorry her life ended so soon, and I have sympathy for her family — especially the 3 children who are left behind.

On Thursday of the upcoming week, the McKain Performance Group, Inc. team is slated to gather for a group photo. It’s always good when folks you do business with online can “see” who they are doing business with…well, most of the time it’s good. Heh.
When I’m Shelley of mckainerwin, I can be funky. No matter how I dress, I am perceived to be “artsy” and “creative”, and my clients expect me to be a little ‘over-the-top’. It’s what I do. Now when you talk about Shelley, Senior Vice President of Marketing for McKain Performance Group, Inc., it’s a whole different ball game. I need for those I speak with to take me seriously; I need to exude a well-educated and professional persona. Matter of fact, each one of us to be photographed on Thursday need to do the same. I am going to suggest that we all wear hats.

From Amber and her ultra-short bangs (PLEASE Amber, let them grow!!), to Perry, whose hair simply is never going to grow, to my latest red/pink streaks — I figure we’ll either go with hats or I’ll be utilizing my entire bag of Photoshop tricks.
Stay tuned to check out the final photos later this week!

Ok – I admit it – I LOVE World of Warcraft!
One of the big tension relievers here at McKain Performance Group/Mckainerwin after a busy day of work is logging on to WoW to do battle against the evil forces of the Horde. The best part? – going into the battlegrounds. If you’ve never experienced it – you should!
The idea of a battleground is that two teams (we being members of the Alliance) are sent to a location to battle against other players. Now there are different levels of “bg” players -here are some examples…
The first type are the “HK farmers”. These people have no desire to actually win – but to get as many honorable kills as they can. They tend to care little for sticking with their respective group and can usually be found wandering the field aimlessly while charging headlong into any large group of opposing forces. Don’t look to these folks for help – you’re on your own.
The second type is what I call “the Strategists”. These guys form plans, organize groups, and shout out commands through the entire battle. They are all about winning the game and care little for HK. These guys expect you to do your part and are VERY opinionated. A bg lead by a great strategist can make for an awesome bg – while one lead by an incompetent one can lead to much frustration and character deaths.
The third type is one that Shelley and I fall under. The type that just loves wasting Horde (or Hordies as we call them). This type can go either way – from being eager “hkers” – to sticking to the plan to get a big win – we go for the love of the competition. The idea of matching our skill versus another players is what draws us to it.
So most days, after work is done, you can expect to find “Arienne” and “Sparrowcat” – those “Defenders of the Alliance” doing battle against the forces of the Horde. Below is just an example of what a BG looks and feels like. Give it a try and maybe we’ll see you there should you ever be on the Emerald Dream server.
“For the Alliance!”

My BLOGGING has been limited; the past week was crazy. Perry barely had time to breathe, so you didn’t hear much from him either. We did get Scott McKain’s latest ezine prepared and sent (go ahead — check it out!), and kept our heads above water, but that’s about the extent of it.
As we recharge our batteries over the weekend, I have 3 other BLOGS to recommend that will keep you busy and fulfill your ‘blog reading’ experience. Here are my picks:
- McKain Viewpoints — of course this has to top the list since he’s the leader (and my MUCH older brother) and my input there is required/expected.
- It’s off my chest now — a BLOG by one of my closest friends who writes with humor and a bit of sarcasm…great stuff.
- Surveying and Other Musings — a BLOG by another great friend that isn’t what it sounds like. Dan’s posts are thoughtful and often inspiring.
Make sure that you bookmark my picks and check them out often.
And finally — if you’re into YouTube — here’s a short video clip on differentiation>>
