brain packing

Jan 22, 2009

Scott McKainToday was looooooong and filled with so many ideas that my brain simply could not hold one more thing. Matter of fact, it slammed shut and stopped functioning.

Brainstorming ideas is sort of like packing a suitcase! When you pack, you throw all kinds of stuff in there but still want more. No matter how much you mash and smash, some of what you’d love to take with you simply will not fit. Full is full.

Same with the brain. Once you’ve reached that day’s capacity for learning, you just can’t stuff anything else in there. But here’s the difference…when you see the suitcase isn’t going to hold any more, you can take out some of the things you’ve already put in there and replace it with things more important. Not so with the brain.

Besides tossing around ideas, I took time to snap a photo as well. While planning new projects is fun and exciting — getting an awesome shot is instant gratification.

I think I should probably get a raise from Scott McKain — after all, that’s a great photo! Don’t you think?
