I celebrated with my Grandmother on Sunday. She’s 98!! There’s simply no way that I could express the love and admiration that I have for Nanny in a BLOG post, but I can tell you about the festivities.
My brother and his family were at the birthday party, as well as adults and children from our church. Members of the church are always faithful and true, even though Nanny’s now in a nursing facility and doesn’t always say the correct things at the correct times anymore. They brought 3 cakes (still not enough room for all the candles), several hand-made cards, and one of the little girls sang a beautiful song for her. I was impressed.
The Sunday School kids also made a birthday crown, and smashed it on her head for a photo. Of course we didn’t notice until later that it was still dripping in glue and glitter. Funny stuff. Good thing I grabbed the photo above before she was crowned ‘birthday girl of the day’.
