I don’t drink the koolaid on the whole Darwin theory, but I do like funny photo stuff, so I had to share this with you.

He has seen better days

Ole’ Perry has seen better days. Heh. But if his current gig doesn’t work out, he can always sell insurance. 😉Click here and upload your own photo and see if you look any better!

And I’ll huff and I’ll puff…

I’m waiting for the house to blow down. High winds in the burg are whistling and blowing raindrops against the windows. The tornado watches have been lifted, but the high wind advisory is in effect until late tonight.

I like to think that this house is soundly built and as air-tight as any other — and although I don’t FEEL air coming in around where the wood stove’s flue connects to the outside, I HEAR lots of it whooshing around.

The clouds looked awesome enough for me to grab the camera and take a quick shot out the back door:

Cloudy sky in the burg

(CNN) — As the family of Caylee Anthony prepares to finally lay her to rest, her grandmother announced plans to establish a charitable foundation to honor the memory of the slain Florida toddler. Caylee ‘now has her angel wings’ – CNN.com.

I’ve followed this case pretty much since the first news of it came out. I don’t know if my obsession has anything to do with what happened in the burg a few years back, or if it’s just that whenever a child’s life has been snuffed out, it’s so unfathomable that I want to see some form of justice. No matter the reason, this whole thing leaves me shaking my head.

The guilt or innocence of Calyee’s accused murderer, her mother, Casey, is not the reason for this post. The thoughts I put forth to you are in reference to grandmother, Cindy Anthony’s plans to establish a charitable foundation.

Thinking back to a time not so long ago when a child of the burg was murdered, Katie, I also remember a charitable foundation being established. I remember the fuss, the talk, and the many people that gave money selflessly — not even knowing what would become of their heartfelt donations. I vividly remember how some of the funds were raised, (MasterSbilt Race Car’s Race Against Drugs, to name only one), and I remember hearing how some of the funds were dispersed. The whole thing left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Now comes Cindy Anthony — the mother to the accused killer of her granddaughter. I’m not unsympathetic to what she’s going through; I simply think that she has as much business starting a charitable foundation as if I were to attempt to be the Pope. She has time for this? I mean, she’s busy sorting through photos of her dead granddaughter so her daughter can auction them to the highest bidder to pay for her defense! ::rolls eyes::

Cindy Anthony says that the charity will be called the Caylee Marie Anthony Foundation, and its mission will be to draw attention to cases involving missing children. Yet, Cindy curses the media and blames them for pretty much everything. I don’t get it!

There are a lot of good people left in the world today — proof will be in the funds that are received from those who trust in the goodness of others.

Another reason

Another reason you need a MAC — the new version of iLife! When Apple releases something new, you can pretty much bet that it isn’t going to include just a few updates that you may or may not care about that much. The newest upgrade, iLife 09, is nothing short of fabulous. Here’s a sneak peak…

I’m not one that dabbles much in movie making, or even in music creation — but my brother turned out a pretty impressive short movie clip in an extremely short period of time. Check it out, and note that he even created the music that you hear in the background with iLife 09’s GarageBand.

I DO love photos though, and the iPhoto application has new features that rock. You can find just what you’re looking for when you categorize photos by ‘Places’. You simply put in the zip code for photos you add from your digital camera, and the application automatically converts photos added by GPS-enabled cameras or the camera on iPhone to GPS location tags. Impressive huh?

But the coolest thing is that you can also sort your photos using ‘Faces’. iPhoto uses face detection to identify faces of people in your photos and face recognition to match faces that look like the same person. Again, if you REALLY need another reason to buy the best computer on the planet – iLife 09 is it!

And I almost forgot — sharing your photos on Facebook and Flickr is as easy as a mouse click. iPhoto converts names you added using Faces to Facebook name tags — and when you share your photos on Flickr, the locations you added using Places appear on Flickr photo maps. Oh! And there’s more! If you add, remove, or edit the shared photos, they’re automatically updated on Facebook and Flickr!
