phenomenal friday

Don’t you just love the smells of spring — the smells that promise that summer is around the corner? I know this should’ve happened a couple weeks ago, but today the yard got its first grooming of the season. The smell of freshly cut grass can always make me smile…

I’ve not posted as often as normal — I’ve simply not been on my game. It all started last week with a tooth that suddenly became extremely sensitive, and then progressed to the point (over the weekend of course) that I was eating pain pills like candy. I called my dentist to make an appointment first thing on Monday morning and was worked into his busy schedule the following day.
My chart told the story — my dentist, Max Middendorf, had placed a big question mark over this tooth on my chart in 1981. At the time he did the filling, he wasn’t sure if it was salvageable. Holy cow! That was 28 years ago!! Needless to say, the prognosis was grim.
The tooth fairy was a no show, but get this — I got a call later that afternoon from the dentist! He wanted to know how I was doing. How cool is that? It wasn’t the receptionist that called — he called personally, which of course made me feel pretty special. And isn’t that what it’s all about? The little things we do in business that make customers/clients feel that they are more than a transaction is what will keep them coming back — even in a challenging economy.
As reported on The Smoking Gun, Abby Toll thought proper treatment for a rambunctious puppy was to tape the lil’ feller (upside down even) to the refrigerator, bind his feet with stretchy hair-ties, and put a plastic bag over his mouth. The local police department thought it was proper treatment to charge her with felony animal abuse and take her butt to jail. I hope that this Colorado student has to pay a huge fine, and is labeled forever as the troll she truly is.

Libby was more than a little upset about this issue. How about you?
Did you know that facebook creates social advertisements by pairing your name/photo with ads in an effort to encourage your friends to visit these sponsored ads? If you don’t – you need to start paying attention! Certainly you’ve seen the ad that claims, ‘3 of your friends challenge you to test you IQ’…and you see 3 of your very own friends. Of course you have!
The good news is — you can opt out! Here’s how:
That’s it. Now get ‘er done. 🙂
