it’s lost on me

Reading today about the healthcare overhaul that Obama signed into law just yesterday, what I’m finding most interesting is that 14 states (Florida, Alabama, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington & Virginia — notice that Indiana isn’t listed), have sued to block the law, stating that requiring individuals to purchase health insurance violates the Constitution.

I think what bothers me most is all the BS surrounding the healthcare issue. For example… “let’s change Happy Meals to Happy Salads” and all those similar ideas for plans of action. Listen kids, my Grandmother lived to be 99 years-old. Every single meal she cooked and ate contained lard — both in fried potatoes and in pie crust. What she DIDN’T do is sit all day in front of a computer or TV and whine. She worked in the garden and cleaned her own house and took care of kids (her own, my brother and I, and then my son).

The cries and claims from people that want to change what the masses can purchase at a restaurant they have a CHOICE to patronize (simply because THEY choose not to get off their lazy butts and get some exercise) is lost on me. Your thoughts?
