Today I was to meet my favorite brother on the planet in Greenwood. Now that’s about a 45 minute drive for him, and an hour and 15 minute drive for me. The sole purpose for the trip was so I could deliver business cards before he leaves for Singapore tomorrow by noon. Now he was supposed to leave earlier, and that got changed by a couple days — so when the cards arrived pre-trip, we were so excited!
I call my son, Ben, who lives in Greenwood, and ask if he would like to meet us for a late lunch. As he moved just a couple weeks ago, he still has a ton of stuff left in the house where he was living that’s about a mile from me. Of course, he proceeds to give orders insofar as what I could bring to him this trip. I pack up all the crap. We are moving his washer and dryer tomorrow, so he calls back right before we walk out the door to ask me to bring him a clean shirt. Heh.
About 45 minutes into the drive north, I realize I forgot the ONE item that was the purpose of the trip. UGH! The business cards are still on my desk. So the best part of the day was that I got to eat lunch with my favorite people, and enjoy my Sunday feeling like a real goof.
My favorite comments from lunch:
Me: I think these look like old women glasses. I need to pick up a “funkier” pair.
Ben: They look like what a 50 year-old would wear. Like something from Chicos.Me to Scott: I can’t believe I left those cards. I’m so sorry!
Ben to Scott: You just can’t find good help these days.
We did get a few quick photos…
