Have you seen the new T-Mobile commercial? It’s a copycat of the Apple commercials where one dude is a MAC and the other old geezer is the PC. Normally I really, REALLY hate commercials that mimic competitors advertising — it’s like they simply can’t come up with anything original on their own, (like the guy with the annoying voice that says “WOW! Now that’s a LOW Price” copied by Kia — lame). But this one is a little different…
The background and lighting are the same as “I’m a MAC. I’m a PC”, and there are two people, just like the MAC commercials. But this marketing piece uses the people to represent phones — not computers. One of the phone people has another guy hanging on his back, while the other phone person is able to move free. The back-clinger is named AT&T — the back it’s clinging to? The iPhone.
I hate it when someone else is right about a huge flaw plaguing a product I love. One good sign from today though…
