Dad was in a nation strain band

Dec 17, 2011

My brother’s BLOG site (McKain Viewpoint) is pretty popular — articles are picked up and reposted by tons of other sites — even Internationally! Those are translated. Apparently. Funny stuff! Especially the one about Dad.

The repost of Scott’s post that referenced our Dad was mentioned on Twitter today by @scottmckain and I laughed out loud when I read it…

The first line of the original post: For as long as I can remember, my Dad was in a country music band.
The first line of the translated version: For as prolonged as we can remember, my Dad was in a nation strain band.

Seriously.

The translated repost goes on to say, “Country strain was in his blood — and we theory we hereditary it.” (I guess that means me too!) And… “It creates me wonder…would we grow a fan bottom if we stayed closer to a roots…” (I do NOT want a fan bottom. I will stay as far away from roots as possible.)

If Dad were still living, he would’ve thought the reposted article was a hoot…after much explanation of how it happened, of course. If Dad were living, he would be amazed and proud.

During the holiday season especially, I miss him so much. And Nanny. I miss her too…
