i think it’s time to search Google for instructions on building a storm shelter

Dear Insight (my favorite cable company) — you know the commercial you have that plays over and over… the one about how those poor people with Direct TV lost signal about an hour BEFORE the storms and got Insight because it’s reliable during weather? Well, it’s bad karma. Stop it already. And thanks, my Internet & TV were restored last night.

The second TV was working again, I clicked over to Weather.com to see what I’d missed reference the devastation in the wake of one of the worst March tornado outbreaks in years. Dr. Greg Forbes was telling me that these tornadoes are from early season — and because April, May and June are the ‘tornado months’ — we have a lot more to worry about.

I want a storm shelter. A real one — not my bathtub. Those pesky neighbors will be home soon, and I’m going to see if I can talk one of them into helping with some type of protective shelter. Big enough for dogs — and them too of course. Although the skies looked extremely angry on March 2, the Ville didn’t get much more than a sprinkle of rain…

One more thing. If you don’t have a weather radio. Get one. NOW. I didn’t know this until March 2nd… but if you live in a mobile home in the US, it’s a law you have one. The rest of us? It’s just common sense.
