Today will go down in history as the worst phone day ever — at least for Perry and me.
I started work earlier than normal and had put in a good 6 hours before lunch, so I figured since it was such an incredible day, I’d take a short swim in the sun. Perry figured he’d join me because he thought he’d worked pretty darned hard too.
I ease into cool water. I’m not a jumper or a diver on that first dip. I hang out a bit dangling my feet and get used to the temperature a little at a time. Perry? He’s a jumper. One of those head-under-the-water-look-at-my-brave-bad-self dudes. For a little bitty guy, he can make an impressive splash. Today’s splash covered his beloved piece of crap Blackberry phone, and even though he quickly pulled the battery, his connectivity to the world is now dead. Totally. Forever. Dead.
But I still had my trusty iPhone!! With an incredible camera! So I snap a shot of my feet overlooking the pool and send the photo via group message. It was intended to go to my son, his wife, and the pesky neighbors. By mistake, I accidentally added a VP of my bank. The message read, “Wish you were here.” The banker didn’t show up. But, neither did who I really wanted to see…
Here’s hoping for a better phone day tomorrow. =)
