an amazing Sunday!

Oct 21, 2012

What a gorgeous day in the Ville today! It’s after 10:00 PM and the ole’ A/C is running, you guys. Near 80 degrees forecasted all week — Indian Summer they say. I’m not exactly sure how I’m going to keep myself in the office, much less those other dudes that work here too. It’s amazing when a drive south on I-65 can even be pretty.

Dinner with the family at Olive Garden this evening and all I could think about was how badly their Clarksville employees need a meeting keynoted or workshop hosted by Scott McKain. They NEED to hear my favorite brother talk about how customers “don’t want you to make it right — they want you to GET it right.

I always order Chicken Alfredo because I love it. Don’t even give me a menu. I guess this special they have going right now is pretty important because our waitress was determined I was going to order that very thing. “But I don’t want just Alfredo, I want CHICKEN Alfredo,” I explained. She told me it would only be $1 more to add the chicken (even though the menu said you couldn’t substitute the offerings) and insisted I order the special. The big deal is you pay one price and get another meal to take home at no additional fee.

DON’T DO IT!

The food deliverer (do they have a title I’m not aware of?) brought the meals to the table and I have a small portion of Alfredo. No freaking chicken. When our waitress comes by about 10 minutes later she asks how our food is and frowned when I told her I didn’t get what I ordered. She’s so very sorry there’s no chicken and she would bring some right out. Coco is about to choke because her drink has yet to make it to the table when 3 narrow slivers of 1/2 done chicken are presented to me to “make it right.” Noooooo….

At the end of the day, I have lasagne in the frig for tomorrow that is a smaller portion than I would’ve had left over if I would’ve gotten my CHICKEN Alfredo order in the first darned place.

Our waitress was extremely nice and I tipped her just as if the food was what I wanted, but someone dropped the ball somewhere. It was an amazing Sunday anyway… even without chicken. And even though Perry’s Bengals are probably going to lose.
