The temperature here in Vegas is about 30 degrees warmer this evening than it is in the Ville. Here’s what’s crazy — and I wonder if you do the same thing… If I were home in Indiana and it was 65 degrees, I would put on a sweatshirt and think it was pretty awesome outside. But here, I walk outside where it’s 65 degrees with a sweatshirt on and think it’s cold. I understand that our bodies adapt to climates — but I’ve not been here a week yet even.
And it gets worse… at home in the Ville I have the hot tub set so that the temp fluctuates between 103 and 104 degrees. We especially enjoy sinking down into the bubbling warmth when it’s snowing and could care less how cold it is so long as it isn’t windy. Heck, I’ve left a flowing trail of steam behind me as I run to the house upon getting out of the hot tub in the winter more times than I can count. But here? The hot tub is set for 103 and it’s FREEZING!
Since it’s November and officially wintertime, I guess we’re just supposed to look at the awesome backyard. Here’s the deal… either it’s really colder than 65 degrees outside — or the hot tub is not 103 degrees. Or both. Probably both.
I must admit, even if I’m not in the water it’s still an amazing — and relaxing view. The only thing missing is a fat brown dog, a handsome dude named Ben, and a little girl with wispy blonde hair who is never, ever quiet.
