My favorite cousin, Jerilyn, started planning a cruise for McKain female family members. She began by creating a Facebook chat that currently has 25 people engaged. The first thing I learned was that all of my family members get up earlier than I do. Every. Single One. The banter starts before 7:00 AM every morning… usually by 5:00 AM.
But the most interesting thing I found is that drama exudes from one group in particular! Now you might think that when a group consists of recent 20 year-olds through retirees, the youngsters would be all about the drama. But not in this case! It’s all good with the Millennials and Boomers — it’s those Gen X’ers that thrive on the controversy. The cruise isn’t for 2 months but already there’s been friction over who is in who’s room. It’s a big deal when one X’er wants to go on the cheap and the person they are planning to room with wants a suite. Here’s an idea… room with someone else. Funny stuff… but each thing (even what I find quirky) that makes each relative unique is what makes me love my family even more.
I’m just wondering if this guy will still be making balloon hats at Senior Frogs in Nassau in July 2016…
