From time to time I’ll review an app, a movie, or a book, and I haven’t done that for awhile. Because you may be staying in (if you’re freezing in Indiana or even much farther south), I thought I’d review a movie I watched just last night in order to assist with your weekend agenda. 🙂
The Snowman
I’ve read many of Jo Nesbø’s series of crime novels. Because this movie was based upon his book of the same title, I couldn’t pass it up. You, on the other hand, should probably consider simply taking that pass.
The Snowman revolves around the search for a serial killer who takes victims during snowfall and leaves a snowman at the scene. To find the killer, detectives must connect cold cases to new ones to track down the sadistic perpetrator before he strikes again. The book by Jo Nesbø is REALLY good.
The Snowman (2017 film) was so scattered and disjointed that the bond I developed with the characters in the book weren’t there at all in the movie. For example, in the movie, when the Snowman kills one woman in particular it had little impact — when reading the book, I was shaken and surprised.I felt disengaged throughout the entire R-rated Universal Studio’s production.
I LOVED the scenery — the beautiful snow-covered bridges, tram, statues, and more… and I had no idea Val Kilmer could look so horrible. Those are the only kudos I’ve got for this movie, you guys.
