TMTR: Making comments about political figures without caring about politics…
Today, Barack and Michelle were at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in D.C. for the unveiling of their portraits. To preface my upcoming thoughts, let me first say I hate when people pick at every little thing that politicians do.
For example, I don’t care about Trump’s combover or if Barack smokes or doesn’t smoke. But… as a woman… I do look at what females in the political arena choose to wear. I can’t help it. Like Melania’s Christian Louboutin shoes, Hilary’s pantsuits, and today Michelle Obama’s dress — I take notice of those things.
As my snarky self thinks, “That is one ugly dress, Michelle,” I wonder if she’s gained 25 pounds in the past year or if the dress is just that unflattering.
I’m sure there will be lots of people (like me) criticizing the outfit of this past FLOTUS (in my case… I’m dissing her dress while wearing an old, black turtle neck and a pair of shorts when it’s 28 degrees outside) — but there are also those who will say Michelle looks absolutely beautiful in this frock. And, there will be many talk of how great the new portraits are — and some will claim they’re awful.
For the record, while I personally thought the portraits of Bill and Hillary were amazing, I’m not nearly as thrilled with the Obama’s newly revealed ones (although Michelle’s dress in the portrait is gorgeous).
