There are days I wonder if renting would be a better option. Owning a home is a pain in the butt and it’s expensive. Having just paid an enormous amount in property taxes, I’m already grumpy about home ownership.. and then, I look outside and see even more maintenance projects that will have to be tackled once it’s warmer.
After a few pretty awesome days, it’s raining. At almost 55 degrees F without a smidgen of sunshine, our weather today could only be described as gloomy. Tomorrow? More of the same. We’ve already had a lot of rain, but certainly not enough to fill up this thing:
When I looked outside, that plant was on its side, bobbing up and down, hanging on to keep from drowning. Obviously, there’s a low spot in the gutter at that exact point and the rain is all draining right where I thought would be a good spot for a decorative planter.
It’s always something — and the older I get, the less I want to fool with home maintenance, upkeep, mowing, property taxes, and all the other things that accompany home ownership. Give me another 10 years and you’ll probably find me in a little blue house trailer so far away from other humans you may never find me. 🙂
