Weekend plans thwarted a trip to Vegas and then… those plans dissolved. Guess I should’ve just gotten on that plane on Friday. I decided not to go to Vegas primarily because I have puppies that I didn’t want to board for a week in a strange place. Gracie is too old and would no doubt have a nervous breakdown — and Dharma’s never been in a kennel, much less spent a week in one. Two walks a day are promised, but that simply isn’t enough to make it a viable option in my book.
That’s my life ON the leash — my flip flops are liars. Both of them.
Bigger cities have puppy spas but there’s nothing like that around here that I know of. You know… where animals are not simply kenneled but have play time with puppy cams where you can check in on your pet at any time. While I have the entrepreneurial spirit, that’s not a business I could open. I am too soft and love animals too deeply. (Yes, I sob over every clip of dogs welcoming home their soldiers, and can not stand to watch one single ESPCA commercial.) Still, I wonder if that would go over in my small city. On the other hand, when kenneling is $23 a night per dog, I have to wonder what it would cost to send Gracie and Dharma to “camp” so I might have more of a LIFE OFF THE LEASH.
And that’s why I’m considering a backyard improvement… one that would provide hours of entertainment to my granddaughter, and extra work for everyone else. 🙂
