I’m not a fan of any insect. I’m especially not a fan of any insect that can inflict pain, but I do rate fat bumblebees a whole lot higher on my approval scale than a wasp or a spider.
It’s claimed the hairy buggers are passive, but because their stinger isn’t barbed, they can sting you more than once. That experience isn’t on my bucket list, so I’ll just watch them work from a distance.
I love the fact that in southern Indiana, I can enjoy the beauty of soft falling snow, gorgeous changing leaves, and even bumblebees.
