I love it when property taxes are due the same day as my homeowners insurance. It seriously makes me consider just selling out.
I have to pay $2400.00 every six months to the Treasurer of Jackson County, Indiana, you guys. If I didn’t drive a Mini Cooper, I think I’d just live in my car.
Per USA Today, Hawaii has the lowest tax rate — New Jersey the highest. (Figured by the total amount of property taxes paid annually as a percentage of the total value of all occupied homes.) Indiana comes in at #28.
Being a homeowner is overrated!
If you can’t pay your property taxes, your house will be auctioned off at the sheriff’s sale in late October. You still have some time to recover it… for even more money. Guess I’d better pay up! Still, I wait until the last possible second.
