I did my first grocery pick-up this week and it was amazing. I may never EVER go inside a grocery store again!
Although Perry’s at Madison Wal-mart, his store is undergoing renovation and doesn’t yet have grocery pick-up. He was no help.
Still, it was incredibly easy. Here are just a few pointers if you’ve never done it before…
- If you order from your computer, please note you must have the Wal-mart grocery app on your phone. (Once you click the check-in button, it tracks you via GPS and knows when you arrive.)
- You should install the app BEFORE you leave home if you’re like me and have a bajillion passwords and can’t remember the one you need.
- You’ll get an email letting you know your order is ready. Click the “check-in” option from your phone – not your computer.
- You’ll receive a ‘thank you’ email with your receipt once you’ve picked up your groceries.
Because ONE person is the sole connection between you and the brand, it’s imperative that person is at least 200% above the average Wal-mart employee. I was lucky — a kind woman with her gray hair in a pony tail and a smile on her face (probably because I was driving a Mini Convertible with the smallest trunk ever) loaded me up. I can promise my first experience wouldn’t have been so impressive if my one person sucked.
