Henry Lee Summer is going to be at the 8 Second Saloon in Indy in December. I scored 4 tickets today and Jerilyn picked up 4 more. Not impressed, you say? Oh well… you’re just going to miss out!
The first time I saw Henry Lee — and many times after that — was at a bar in North Vernon called the Pro Bowl. Dude is from Brazil, IN.
Around 1986, he was the opener for John Cougar Mellencamp and that first concert was memorable. I left puking out the car door… Jerilyn driving… and everyone that saw me thought I was simply drunk. She took me to the hospital and 3 days later I had surgery. Bye, bye appendix!
Henry Lee fell out of popularity and into drugs. I’ve read he’s doing well after treatment, but from the way he looks I just hope he makes it to the end of the gig. 🙂
Where did that mullet go? On the other hand, we don’t look like we did back then either.
Heck, we might’ve been the girls that walked like that — but I doubt it. 🙂
