My great uncle Theodore lived in this house before me. He was such a sweet man. He smiled often; was a huge fan of silicone; and was quirky. I’m sure there are people that think I’m quirky too… we’re all different. Right?
Ted isn’t around anymore — he passed away in this house. There are so many questions I would like to ask him about things he did here that seem to have no purpose. For example… He built a linoleum countertop in a small half-bath that would hold an elephant. He put 3 wheelbarrows and a full TV antennae in the attic. Why, Ted? (Not to mention HOW — he was a little guy!)
Turning toward the house from the mailbox yesterday afternoon I snapped a photo. I figured I’d share it here and show those pesky neighbors how much snow was left.
But when I looked at the photo, I saw something in that top right window!
At first, I thought it was the ghost of my Uncle Ted! Upon closer inspection, it looks like a sump pump, but it can’t be that! What is it??
While the attic over the garage has flooring and great storage, it’s not easy to get to the side over the house part. I’ve never been up there, but obviously, Teddy has been.
In a short time, Perry will be dragging the Christmas tree from the good side of the attic. At that time, I’ll be begging him to cross to the other side and move whatever this is out of sight — but not until he photographs it so we know what it is.
I’ll be sure to update you guys – no matter if you’re interested or not. I’m quirky like that. 🙂
