Cinderella Castle is the primary thing that pops in my head when I think about Disney World. Of course, it’s located on Main Street in Magic Kingdom and is bigger (and more magical) than Disney Land’s Sleeping Beauty castle.
While you can typically walk through this centerpiece, (nothing much to see in there but it’s a nice shortcut), it was blocked during our entire trip. The non-busy time we chose for our trip felt more packed than it was during our Christmas/New Year trip or our spring break visit. Ugh!
Disney’s ornate Beauty & the Beast-themed French eatery, Be Our Guest, is also at this park and is one of the hardest reservations to get. We had ONE option available (dinner) and booked 120 days in advance. The service was horrible, the food was barely average, and the cast members we encountered need retrained. But the Beast is there, you guys…
Even the photo opportunity was pretty miserable as the cast members were about |-| close to being rude. Certainly not the Disney experience of old, that’s for sure. Colette picked at her food but LOVED the beast.
It’s a Small World (created for the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair) and Haunted Mansion (complete with Madame Leota’s chilling séance room) are classics. Perry wasn’t impressed with the old school feel of Small World, but we all enjoy the mansion even though it’s haunted and we look bored.
Space Mountain still ranks as an amazing dark, thrill ride and remains one of our ‘go-to’ experiences at Magic Kingdom.
And finally, even though there are so many other Magic Kingdom rides and experiences that deserve mentioning, I’ll sign-off with the Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train. It is back-to-work Monday, after all.
