always wear the shoes

Jul 13, 2020

I have a friend on Facebook and I have NO CLUE who she is. I accept “speaker/meeting planner” requests, so sometimes I know them but don’t really know them.

This woman is mutual friends with a couple other people I know from the event business — but not my brother — that’s what makes it really odd. Why be my friend? Anyway… this whole post about a FB friend that is a stranger has a point…

I read all her stuff and look at all the photos she shares! She’s always positive and upbeat.

This chick is older than me… I’m guessing mid-70’s maybe? She’s been through chemo — I know this because she’s shared photos of herself hooked up. And in those photos… she always wore a pair of pink stilettos. Who does that? Especially at over 50.

In the midst of all the negative BS, she’s a bright light of inspiration. If I knew her… I would absolutely want to be her friend. Some Google research later, I find she’s an author of several business books.

And… she always wears pink shoes.

Although I don’t feel right about posting her name or face here, I do want you to see her shoes. I doubt I could walk across the living room in them.

And I’ll share what she posted on FB this morning…

Challenge yourself to stay positive in this negative world… Choose wisely your thoughts… Because truly thoughts are things… Truly thoughts have wings.

Daily new COVID-19 cases (7 day moving average):

TIL (today I learned): In 1906, William Williams was set to be executed by the State of Minnesota. The sheriff miscalculated the length of the rope resulting in Williams hitting the floor of the gallows below. Officers grabbed the rope and held him up until he finally died of strangulation. And finally, rain over the weekend escorted in temps here in southern Indiana that are nearly perfect…
