i must’ve had a headache

Sep 9, 2020

There are times when I can remember what I’ve dreamed and the plot actually made sense in the morning light. Not the case insofar as the dream I awoke to this morning.

In this dream I was in a facility. I don’t know if it was a mental hospital, a jail or a drug rehab facility… all I know is I was there and I had some contraption around my head — just like every single other person surrounding me.

We were heading to an event in an orderly fashion — like heading to a pep session in the gym in my high school days — when I snuck away saying I needed to use the bathroom. I got to a regular street and called Carl for help from my trusty cell phone.

Of course, now I’m no longer sleeping, I wonder how I escaped a facility with a contraption on my head similar to that of ‘Silence of the Lambs,’ WITH a mobile phone. I wonder why no one on the street took notice of my appearance. I wonder why Carl didn’t listen more intently but instead rambled on about sitting on the porch in the sun.

I told him to come quick… with the police… and sent a selfie. I also sent other incriminating photos of “prisoners” (if that’s what we were), being abused by the “staff” of said facility. He said he would get to me a quickly as possible. We hung up and I went back to the building to wait — but was worried about the police being corrupt and wished I could call him back.

Then I woke up… never to be rescued.

So… why did I go back? I was on the street with a phone and didn’t just escape and hide? Or go to the police myself? What kind of idiot prisoner would do that? ME!

I’m sure this dream could be analyzed and it would provide valuable insight into my soul. My wildest fears would undoubtedly be revealed. But I think I’ll just chock it up to my head hurting slightly in my sleep… likely from laying on my pillow in an uncomfortable position.

Merida thinks I’ve lost my mind…

TIL (Today I Learned): The person with the title of “the craziest inmate in the world” is Thomas Edward Silverstein (not me!). He was an American criminal convicted of four separate murders while imprisoned for armed robbery. He spent the last 36 years of his life in solitary in a special cell called called “Range 13.” You can read more here…
