I had an interesting conversation last night with a friend — a guy I dated 100 years-ago. His father has Alzheimer’s and is in a nursing facility. I often check on his Dad and he asks about my Mom. The conversation started with him saying he hadn’t seen his dad in over 4-months as there are 9 cases of COVID in that nursing home currently. This is AFTER vaccination.
Interesting, right? He told me he would not be getting the COVID vaccine and mentioned the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security’s book. It’s his opinion that publication proves COVID-19 was planned. I understood it to be a futuristic scenario used to learn different reactions/counter-reactions for better preparedness. But hey… what do I know? (You can read about Spars 2025-2028 here.)
What happened to the guy I took a photo of way back when that transformed him into the one that sent me a tactless cartoon?
Nothing. He’s still a smart and marginally funny guy who just happens to think differently than I do — on the vaccine and what’s considered humorous. 🙂
Who knows how safe the vaccine really is or even how effective it will be proven to be. I chose to take it, and he chose not to. I think he’s wrong and he thinks I am. I’m surprised he’s not required to be vaccinated (State Police), but think it’s ok that he’s not. It’s not about taking sides.
If I’m vaccinated and he isn’t — he won’t be hurting me even if mask requirements are lifted. Right? Some say it undermines herd immunity. I’m not so sure. Reflecting back on our conversation I’m left to wonder… what would’ve happened with polio if the Internet was around in the 50’s?
