FINALLY! It rained here in southern Indiana. A real rain… not just a sprinkle for 5-minutes. We needed it so badly even though it means I’ll have to mow. Haven’t seen the road flooded with surface water in so long I almost forgot what it looked like.
The heat wave is over too for the most part. I love summer, but when it’s close to 100° day after day and the humidity is extremely high, it’s too hot to enjoy being outside at all. Even at night. You can forget sitting in the sunroom and watching the dogs play in the yard. Instead, we’re watching them sleep on the carpet in the A/C. Fat bellies and all. 😉
Not only do we have fat bellies around here, we have fat hot dogs, too! Perry is a huge fan of Nathan’s hot dogs. At Sam’s Club a couple weeks ago I picked up quarter-pound Nathan’s dogs and oh my gosh! The things are HUGE. If you haven’t tried them, we’d recommend.
TIL (Today I Learned): In 1933 Einstein had a salary of $10,000 — about $178,000 today. That would make him the highest-paid scientist in his field. When he died, his net worth was $1.25 million or $11 million today.
