Labor Day weekend and we didn’t do anything amazing… except eat. Benjamin and I traveled north to Pho Shiki early in the weekend and I thought I’d have a nervous breakdown before we arrived. Someone pulled out in front of him so he rode their bumper so close I thought I’d put my foot through the floorboard. (Remember Fred Flintstone?) He drives my car like it’s a go-cart. When I asked him what he thought he was trying to prove he told me he was HANGRY.
The pho was great and the ride home was normal. What isn’t normal is the burrito I got from El Nopal this evening. It was big enough to feed a family of four! I’ve never in my life seen a burrito look like this. Eat your heart out Taco Bell… you can not compete.
COVID-19: My county and state (Indiana) has about the same % of people with COVID as last week. Florida is up to 16.28 and Nevada is down slightly. From what I’ve read, a Moderna booster won’t be approved at the same time as Pfizer’s — but Moderna is more effective. No word on J&J.
TIL (Today I Learned): The longest surgery ever recorded was performed in 2001 by a team of 20 doctors; it took 103 hours (more than four days) to complete. The surgery was on 11-month-old twins conjoined at the head with brains partially fused. The operation was a success — although one contracted meningitis 7-years later and passed away, the other twin is a teen that can talk, sing and attend school. Another interesting thing to note — Ben Carson served as an advisor to the team.
