The COVID metrics for Indiana are updated every Wednesday at noon. Today, Jackson County again went RED. You can check it out on this IN.gov link. Not sure what that will mean for schools and businesses (if anything), but it is cause for concern me thinks. Colette’s elementary school is still reporting less than 5 cases, but others in the county are higher.
While we know that the county where I reside is RED insofar as COVID, a few of us are undecided on what color chili really is…
I don’t like pasta in chili and I like the sauce to be thick. Lots of meat and beans and so spicy my Mom won’t eat it. I figure it’s the only thing standing between me and COVID. 😉
So for you… is it pasta or no pasta? And… is chili red or orange?
COVID gains and losses… in one week, the % of those testing positive for COVID-19 in Jackson County, IN has increased from 13.73% to 14.05%. In Indiana, cases rose from 13.08% to 13.40%. Nevada also increased from 13.08% to 13.66%, and Florida went from 15.65% to 16.28% statewide.
TIL (Today I Learned): An intentional “brownout” is used for load reduction in an emergency. It got its name from the color of your lights — from brilliant light to dimmed brown. I’d never heard of that until today when my brother mentioned that one was scheduled for his residence in Las Vegas. Because it’s been so very hot there, the electricity demand is near or above the utility’s production capacity. They’re having rotating brownouts for residential areas. I can’t even imagine!
