Nine years ago today, we had snow in southern Indiana. It was COLD in Crothersville, but beautiful.
Six years ago today, we were enjoying Disney World still decorated for Christmas. It was warm and beautiful.
Today, in Seymour we’ve had cold rain all day with accompanying dark skies. Not cold enough out to snow — it’s been in the mid 40’s — but the damp and dreary conditions sure made for an ugly day.
And, the continued wet and two big hound dogs have made for some ugly floors too.
Couple things you might have interest in:
- Google’s “year in search” came out today and although interesting, there were few surprises.
- Doomscrolling was searched more than ever before. So many do it but few knew the term so had to Google it to find out, I guess. (Doomscrolling or doomsurfing is the act of spending an excessive amount of screen time devoted to the absorption of negative news.)

- I received an email today from a national association that outlined the biggest issues industries are currently facing. Again, no big surprises but interesting just the same. Top five topics of concern:
- How technology is changing the workplace.
- Cybersecurity threats and how to protect against them.
- Dealing with workforce issues.
- How companies can preserve their cultural strengths in changing times.
- How ESG is of greater importance than ever before. (Environmental, Social, and Governance — non-financial factors that characterize a sustainable, responsible and ethical investment.)
And finally… our forecast for tomorrow is… **drum roll please** …more COLD rain. 😢
