Today is BACK TO WORK AFTER THE HOLIDAY Monday. In Indiana, today feels like winter… unlike Christmas when it felt like a regular September day. Barely 20°F as I kick off the work-week, at least skies are clear and it’s sunny.
Where’s my snow?
I read about a conversation a producer had with Betty White where the subject of “death” came up. Betty said she loved what her mother would say when someone passed, “Oh, now they know the secret.” Although Betty now knows the “secret,” recent claims that she had a COVID vaccine booster just days before her death is fake, says the Associated Press.
Anti-vaxxers are all over that one as they love to repeat anything they read that bolsters their viewpoint. I have a few friends like that — and others that aren’t vaccinated but have simply “tuned out.” One friend in particular is currently sick, and so is his elderly aunt and uncle for whom he provides care for. While I would love to know if he wishes he’d have gotten the vaccine/booster, that’s another secret I won’t be searching for the answer to.
Yesterday, Jerilyn sent me a few old photos. Not great quality (pictures of pictures) but entertaining just the same. My favorite was of the two of us from back in the crafty-craft days… when we would pay $7 for a sweatshirt, spend $20 on thread and embroidery hoops, cross-stitch for four days, and sell the finished product for $8. 🙄
Not sure why I thought wearing a cow on my shirt was attractive — or why Jerilyn got to wear the shirt with the cute bunny on a rocking horse leaving me with the Holstein. It’s no secret I will NOT be sporting a red bandana or that hairstyle again in this lifetime.
TIL (Today I Learned): Betty white’s character, Rose Nyland, on The Golden Girls, had a brush with HIV. The show centered on Rose after she learns that a blood transfusion she received may have exposed her to HIV. The message of the show was that HIV and AIDS had the potential to affect anyone.
