did anyone in Indiana NOT have chili last night?

Jan 7, 2022

The cold started yesterday and into the night it only got worse in Indiana. No more than 15 degrees F, I wonder how many families ate chili for dinner. 🙂 This morning, it’s -1°F.

It did NOT snow in my city yesterday at all. The Peskies got snow in the Ville…

At Perry’s workplace in Madison, their snowfall was even greater…

What we got here was not snow. What we got was bored and sleepy…

Got word yesterday that Omicron cases have overtaken Delta now in Indiana. It’s said that 56% of cases are Omicron and that number is likely more like 80% because of the lagging test numbers.

Had a conversation with Perry last night about how events are rescheduling. It’s exactly like it was in March 2020. What’s worse this time around for me is because it’s COLD. Insofar as my job, there’s work to do when client’s decide not to go forward with events because they need to reschedule and coordinate calendars. Then, it drops off to nothing. Before, I had grass to mow and flowers to plant and could walk the dogs.

Again, it’s much worse this time. And not just because it’s COLD, but also because we’ve already done this. Things were almost back to normal and looking up. Life was returning to normal and then… BAM! Even if no one else gets sick after today, it will take some time to gear back up to what it was just two-weeks ago.

I’m not the only one who thinks COVID and frigid temps suck…

Covid sucks

TIL (Today I Learned): Owls cannot move their eyes — their eyes are not balls, but cylinders that are held in place by bones. That’s why they’ve evolved to be able to rotate their head 270 degrees left and right, and 90 degrees up and down.
