The title of this post proves I can creatively write a sensationalized title. And there’s nothing secret about the recipe. Someone shared it on FaceBook. The only truth in the headline is that it could potentially make you a hero in the kitchen. 😉
Orange Juice Cake
Ingredients:
- 1 box yellow cake mix (I used Betty Crocker)
- 1 (3.4 oz) box instant lemon pudding mix
- 3/4 c vegetable oil
- 3/4 c orange juice
- 4 large eggs
Preheat oven to 350°F and grease and flour a Bundt pan. In a large bowl, combine all the cake ingredients and pour the mix into the prepared pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean and the cake is just starting to pull from the sides of the pan. Allow the cake to cool in the pan while you’re making the glaze.
Glaze Ingredients:
- 2 c powdered sugar
- 1/2 stick butter
- 3/4 c orange juice
In a small sauce pan, combine the glaze ingredients and cook until the butter has melted, stirring frequently.
Poke a bunch of holes in your cake with a toothpick and pour the warm glaze over the cake still in the cake pan. Allow it to cool for 15-20 minutes until all the glaze has been absorbed. Invert the cake onto a serving platter and allow to cool.
This could very well be my new favorite dessert. So easy and yummy. And moving on as quickly as Biden did when he accidentally said Uranium or Iranian instead of Ukrainian in his speech last night….
All around the world people are calling for peace.
The entire world is following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. I can’t even imagine what the Ukrainian people are experiencing and the fear they must have for their future. What happens next? Does this go on for 10+ years? If Putin captures/kills Zelenskyy do we just impose more sanctions? Remember Yushchenko?
I watched the State of the Union address — and I watched the rebuttal by Kim Reynolds. Y’all have your own opinions already and I know you don’t care what I think so I’ll keep this brief:
Nancy Pelosi’s mouth is really freaky; Boebert and Greene should’ve kept quiet; and I think I’ll move to Iowa. 🙂
