I’ve been watching Fixer Upper again. Although I’m not a fan of all the darned white paint and accents… and miles of shiplap also painted white… I do like a lot of things they do that turn crappy houses into some pretty amazing spaces. It inspires me to make minor home changes myself.
I’m not knocking out any walls here so there will be no “demo day,” still, the Chip and Jo Jo inspiration has my back feeling rough. I carried the heaviest chairs on the planet across the house, opened a can of paint and sat humped over them for hours.
A table out of the old Poplar Street Tavern and chairs that were damaged in the flood in Crothersville that (I’m guessing) was over 30 years-ago, I can’t seem to toss these out. While I see a bunch of tables and chairs I love, I’ve yet to find any that are built like these old things.
Now I just have to figure out what color to do the pie safe. I’m afraid too much black might not be any better than too much white.
Thanks, Chip!
Chip let me know that if my back hurts it’s ok to just leave it white. Photobombing Dharma is ok with that too. 😊
TIL (Today I Learned): Outback Steakhouse was founded in Tampa, FL by 4 Americans that had never even visited Australia. They were simply capitalizing on the popularity of 1986’s Crocodile Dundee film.
