I find it crazy that it takes FIFTY ONE DOLLARS to fill up a Mini Cooper. That’s a lot of money, right? At $4.96 a gallon — my car requires premium — it doesn’t take long to make a dent in a wallet.
As farmers head to the field, can you imagine what they need in their hoppers to float a spring planting? Diesel prices are even higher than premium at around $5.35 right now. I have no idea how much fuel a tractor burns, but I’m guessing it’s a whole lot more than my Mini.
It’s not likely prices we see at the grocery — or anywhere else — will be going down any time soon. The Associated Press reported today that prices across the economy are soaring at their fastest pace in decades.
TIL (Today I Learned): In 1956, a woman was awarded $300 in damages by the city of Miami after she was hit on the foot by a falling coconut. It was argued that the city should have been on notice that the coconut was a hazard, because “a reasonable man would assume it was about to fall when it turns brown”.
