Dharma is a hairball.
This time of year she sheds so badly that I can vacuum and 15-minutes later it looks like I need to vacuum. Not even joking.
I brush this dog at least every other day and hair STILL floats around her like dirt around Pigpen from Peanuts. Today, rather than chase her around the yard getting a swipe every now and again, I brushed her in the office with my trusty FURminator dog de-shedding brush. I could’ve made 4 Corgis with what came off of her.
Next… a bath!
Dharma loves water so getting her in the big tub was no problem. After washing and scrubbing away what I thought was all the loose hair she could possibly have (and cleaning the tub shroom 10 times during draining), I just knew the worst of the shedding was over. I thought she might be bald. Nope.
Pet this girl and you’ll still come away with handfuls of hair.
Dharma’s hair is thick and wavy. She’s got TONS of it. Like she’s probably part bear.
Merida, on the other hand, is slick and shedding isn’t an issue. Getting her within a mile of water is the problem. She’s the lab that hates the water hose, the tub, and anything bigger than her water bowl that will contain water.
Even saying the word “bath” has the following result:
TIL (Today I Learned): On May 25, 1979 American Airlines Flight 191 crashed into an open field after the plane engine fell off during take off. This caused the plane to rotate left and fly sideways until it plunged to the ground. With 273 fatalities, it is the deadliest aviation accident in U.S. History.
