My buddy, Alisa, is a new grandma. I’m so very excited for her… I know she’ll be an awesome influence in baby Lainey’s life. I’ve already warned her not to jostle the new baby until she throws up. I felt it was my duty as a friend.
When Ben was a baby, we took him with us shopping at JC Penney. He was being pretty darned unruly so she took a turn trying to appease him. Babies are comforted by big, soft, pillowy chests and she’s got me beat all over the place in that department. 😉
She started by bouncing him up and down. He puked. Not a little spit up, mind you — a full blown projectile milk stink spew of vomit. Without pause, she picked up a towel, cleaned him up and wiped the stinky stuff from her shirt.
And then, she folded that towel and put it back on the sale rack. Yes, she did.
When Ben got a little bigger, she taught him how to pee outside — just one of numerous other things that little boys need to know. Like sticking out your tongue at people…
