The grass here needs mowed before it gets out of hand, but it’s too wet. While I’m complaining, if it would warm up another 20 degrees that would be great too. The garage door is to come out within the next day or so and although it will get covered up, warm weather beforehand would be nice.
The wall boards are going up and I keep repeating, “It’s a barn. It’s a barn. It’s a…” Once all the insulation is covered, the wood walls will be sprayed with whatever stain I pick out and sealed. For the same money, we could’ve had drywall, but I can’t stand to think about painting 16′ ceilings every few years. No one around here is getting younger.
When it comes time to do the finish work, I’m going to keep it light.
Since it’s a big room and I haven’t decided yet what I’m going to do about the floors, I don’t want to go dark. I just want this room to feel comfortable — a place where we have computers and a TV — but not like a dungeon. 🙂 It is now, and always will be, a barn.
In the meantime, my view at present is complicated.
It’s like playing ‘where’s Waldo’ trying to located Perry’s bald head across the room. Heh.
TIL (Today I Learned): The fast food chain, Popeyes, isn’t named after the cartoon character, but Gene Hackman’s character from The French Connection.
