First, I woke up to this…
It was so darned hot yesterday, I didn’t even think to see if we had wind forecasted. Oh well… nothing permanently destroyed. Guess I was due a little bit of luck. 🙂
Good and good for you!
I’ve found something that I can eat that isn’t too darned bad. I’ve pretty much cut out all sugar and am limiting carbs to a minimum. When Mr. Pesky’s A1C levels passed the happy mark, he tried every diet dressing sold for 100 miles. He rolled in here with a few bottles of his top choice — G Hughes brand products.
What’s that stuff?
I’ll tell you what that is… it’s lettuce, onions, tomatoes, left over burger prepared on the Blackstone, and G Hugues burger sauce. It’s like a Big Mac without the sesame seed bun. 🙂
Besides dressings, the brand has marinades, ketchup, and BBQ sauces too. Good luck finding some of the options… you have to get lucky on a few of them.
I survived the hottest day (so far) of summer without air conditioning! 🥵
I ended up spending some time in the pool and the rest of the time in the office where it’s coolest. I did ok, but Dharma is struggling a bit mid-day. The deck and sidewalk are so hot on her feet until the sun goes behind the barndo and that area is shaded.
Merida barrels off to the grass so fast she doesn’t even know it’s hot. Dharma lumbers along and instead of getting off… she sits down. ARG!
I ended up turning on the hose to cool a path by positioning the water arc where I wanted her to go. Dharma LOVES water and she bites at it like it’s her job. Sort of like a horse with a carrot… she chases the flow. Once she made it in the grass, I turned the hose off — and after she finished her business, I turned it back on to make a water spray path back to the door.
Just a few light clouds last night, and a bit cooler temps (92°) incoming today.
Fact for the day: There is an island off the coast of Long Island, New York that has been been privately owned by the same family for 400 years. It’s about 3300 acres and it’s the oldest estate in the US.
