I’ve been feeling pretty awful since my return from Disney. Now feeling human, I’m revisiting the floors of the office/family room. The almost 600 square foot room was previously a garage.
But first… good morning from the Ville!

It’s time to make this room look more like a room!
The space ready for a change was converted from a garage into a ‘podcast studio’ by the previous owners and was only covered with spray foam insulation. As I’ve posted about before, we had the walls, ceilings, and windows finished out — and the garage door removed. The floors are still bare concrete.
What type of flooring and what color?
While the upstairs has flooring, the floors downstairs — with the exception of this room — have been treated with concrete dye in ‘Desert Sunset’ (Behr).

Since I don’t want to spend $3K for vinyl floors right now, I’m going to opt for $300 in concrete cleaner, dye, and top coat instead. I figure a bit later on I can do flooring throughout the downstairs, and this change won’t impact a thing.

- Desert Sunset is what we have everywhere else downstairs.
- Carob would better cover all the imperfections but would darken the room even more.
- Sand might not cover the spots where polyurethane was dripped by contractors.
I’m leaning toward CAROB — what say you?
And lastly, one image compilation that explains why media outlets are in trouble…

If you can find out information quicker from other valid sources, why would you ever pay to get the same information from what could be a biased report?
Now you know: The depression between your upper arm and forearm, opposite to your elbow actually has a name. It is called the “cubital fossa.”
